The 14″ ThinkPad T470 Notebook from Lenovo is a business-oriented system made for users who are constantly on the go. It features a fingerprint reader, TPM 2.0, as well as power-on and hard disk password protection to keep your system secure. The ThinkPad T470 is built with dual batteries, which can last up to 18 hours of use on a single charge. Actual battery life will depend on usage. Upgraded with a better TrackPad and TrackPoint, the T470 will have fewer jumps and gaps when scrolling for smoother and more accurate navigation.

Thunderbolt 3

Thunderbolt 3 is a hardware interface that utilizes the reversible USB Type-C connector. Doubling the speed of its predecessor, Thunderbolt 3 features a maximum throughput of 40 Gb/s when used with compatible devices. The connector also transmits data via USB 3.1 at up to 10 Gb/s, and dual-bandwidth DisplayPort 1.2 allows you to connect up to two 4K displays simultaneously. Additionally, you can daisy chain up to six devices from a single Thunderbolt 3 port.

Impressive Durability

The ThinkPad T470 is the classic matte-black color on a magnesium and fiber hybrid chassis, with a soft-touch finish on the outside lid and on the bezel, and more of a hard, textured finish on the inside, including the palm, rests. There is still some sparkle in the paint, making it stand out when the sun catches it. the Lenovo T470 also boasts impressive durability with an impressive collection of 12 military-grade certification tests (MIL-STD 810G). The test covers a wide variety of system threats including humidity, high vibration, mechanical shock, low and high temperatures, high altitudes, temperature shock, and sand test.

Excellent Connectivity

The Lenovo ThinkPad T470 offers excellent connectivity with a wide selection of ports. The left side features a power connector, a USB 3.0 port, a USB Type-C/Thunderbolt 3 port, and a SmartCard reader. The right side of the device houses a Kensington lock slot, an SD-card reader, an Ethernet connector, a USB 3.0 (always on) port, an HDMI connector, a USB 3.0 port, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

Intel Core i5-6200U Inside

The Intel Core i5-6200U is a ULV (ultra low voltage) dual-core SoC based on the Skylake architecture and has been launched in September 2015. The CPU can be found in ultrabooks as well as normal notebooks. In addition to two CPU cores with Hyper-Threading clocked at 2.3 – 2.8 GHz (2 cores: max. 2.7 GHz), the chip also integrates an HD Graphics 520 GPU and a dual-channel DDR4-2133/DDR3L-1600 memory controller. The SoC is manufactured using a 14 nm process with FinFET transistors.
